Singer songwriter, harp and guitar player, Jennifer Crook returns to Schtumm with a new line-up and some great new songs.
Heartfelt and authentic, Jennifer’s highly skilled musicianship and naturally beautiful singing voice make a captivating live performance. With the addition of vocal harmonies and such first class musicians as Mike Cosgrave (guitar, accordion) and new trio member Clare Lindley (violin), the atmospheric arrangements around Jennifer’s vivid storytelling are simply stunning. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Cosgrave regularly tours with Jackie Oates, Cosgrave and Banks, and has previously worked with Michael Weston King, Jackie Leven and Bath-based band ‘Daily Planet’ amongst others. (Jennifer met him in a wind-swept car park by the sea in Pembrokeshire after a Daily Planet gig.)
Clare Lindley has played with many artists, more recently as the violinist in the cult rock band Stackridge and the acoustic trio DLM headed by Bath-based songwriter Andrew Cresswell Davis. (Jennifer met her at a folk festival in the Shetland Islands when they were young and having too much fun to remember much about it.)
Jennifer is a much-loved feature of Britain’s folk and acoustic scene, with collaborations that encompass Boo Hewerdine, Eddi Reader, and a major tour with Snow Patrol. She has released a string of intelligent, finely-crafted albums, attracting plaudits from Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2 and the folk press, including ‘Carnforth Station’ produced by Stephen W Tayler at Real World Studios.

Bristol based musician Tom Forbes has released his 3rd EP Limbo and is currently playing shows while writing new music. The sound is called Space Pop.
Limbo was recorded with George Shilling at Bank Cottage Studio and mixed by Luke Thomas at Flood Studios in Birmingham and is a change of direction from Tom’s previous releases. With funky guitars, big electric beats, silky falsetto and a big grunge sound, this amalgamation of Tom’s influences makes for an exciting Space Pop listen
Over the summer Tom and his band played a slew of festivals and gigs and the band has really tightened up. Expect youth, verve, edge and some fabulous playing
