Schtumm…. Friday 12th June 2015
June Schtumm is a mid-month gig because of Glastonbury and it will be a treble of talented bands – with Caravaggio, Francesco Piu and Xiane.
Caravaggio work with colours in music to create an imaginative soundscape. Three musicians painting rhythms and transitions with technical precision, blending influences from Rock, Funk and Mediterranea sound strengthened by their use of English and Italian language.
Francesco Piu plays a mix of blues, funky, soul and rock in acoustic way. Francesco was described by Guitar Club magazine as “a truly force of nature!” Singing and playing acoustic guitar, dobro, weissenborn, banjo, lap steel and harmonica, this young Italian bluesman from Sardinia has increased his importance in Italian and international blues over the last few years .. and may this continue!
She is now writing and performing taut, emotionally charged songs; not easy to classify in a genre, but striking and instantly recognizable, held together by a voice of great dynamic range.
A leading German music critic wrote of her German tour last year: ‘Accoustic guitar, keyboards and elegantly fragile programmed beats and sound samples and an individual voice of a warm and dark timbre.’
